One Year Anniversary of WWE Hall of Fame Blog!

Today, January 10th is the one year Anniversary of the WWE Hall of Fame Blog.

We did it!

zoidberghooray

I thought I’d take a look at the top ten most viewed posts of the year. And here we go!

5. Never Going into the Hall of Fame: Tatanka

The Native American Tatanka, known best for being a Native American, was the last of a character type which existed for many decades in wrestling. Like all of his predecessors, his existence alone if racist and  simplistic.

Not a stereotype…..

Regardless of that, Tatanka…didn’t do anything. His time in WWE was defined by a winning streak which ended randomly to Ludvig Borga.

4. WWE Hall of Fame 2014: Possible Headliners and Breakdown

Everyone is excited about the potential inductees for the 2014 WWE Hall of Fame Class. In the article above, written last April,  looks at some of the possible headliners. Mark my words today Ultimate Warrior will headline. (I will deal with my full prediction later)

CRAZY!

CRAZY!

3.WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2011: Abdullah the Butcher

Adullah the Butcher is the most out of the box candidate in the history of the WWE Hall of Fame. He never wrestled for WWE, had never appeared on their programming ever before the ceremony and was in before Bruno, Savage, Warrior, Roberts and many other greats. 2011 was the last year where Johnny Ace had a say in who got in.

Thank God.

Doink 2012! Great Idea!

2. Future WWE Hall of Famer: Ravishing Rick Rude

One of the most popular sections on the site is the Future Hall of Famer section. And our most popular Future HOFer is the man, Ravishing Rick Rude.

Rick Rude is the greatest wrestler of the 80s never to become World Champion. He would already be a HOFer if not for his early death. There is such a long list of those who have passed; Savage, Bulldog, Owen, Brody are the greatest among them. Rude will go in; he just has to wait.

1. WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2013: Who’s Left to Announce, and More!!

The closer to Wrestlemania we get, the more speculation will occur. Last year, my last rumor piece predicted that Booker T would go in alone (or possibly with Ivan Koloff or the recently deceased Paul Bearer)

Man I wish the Honky Tonk Man would go in already!

Induct ME!

That’s it! Here’s to many more years! And be on the look out for my WWE Hall of Fame 2014 Predictions, Coming Soon!

Intro To ME And This Blog

I love wrestling and I have since I was a little kid. I remember in 1987 and 1988 watching WWF Superstars religiously. Characters like Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage and Ultimate Warrior were my heroes.

But on top of them, I loved smaller characters like Bad News Brown, Honky Tonk Man, Outlaw Ron Bass, Twin Towers, Bobby Heenan and more. This became my hobby.

I continued to watch through the Monday Night Wars and eventually switched to WCW with the NWO up until 1999 when I stopped watching as it lost its fun, getting too crass for me.

I came back to wrestling in 2006, and at this point, I wanted to know all about it. I watched old videos of AWA, WCCW, NWA. I found out about Bruno Sammartino, Harley Race, The Briscos, and The Funks. They were the basis for wrestling. They caused my childhood heroes to get into the business and created the basis for everyone from that point.

That was the point when I found the DVD for the 2004 WWE Hall of Fame. WWE’s Hall had started in 1993 with the induction of Andre The Giant (no ceremony, only an announcement) Many old time wrestlers were inducted from 1994-1996 before it was discontinued until 2004. But the wrestlers being inducted in 2004 were some of my heroes. Sgt Slaughter, Bobby Heenan, Tito Santana and Big John Studd went in that year.

From this point, I have been basically obsessed with the WWE Hall of Fame. It is my favorite wrestling item of the year. I watch the current product and its good (expect for John Cena and The Miz) but nothing compares to wrestling’s past.

And here we GO!
